Colpitts World Travel has been appointed by Scottish Chamber Orchestra (SCO) and Scottish Ballet to provide travel and logistics support for their forthcoming international tours covering three continents.
The Edinburgh-based European headquarters of corporate travel specialists Colpitts will manage all flight and visa requirements for the two organisations when they take to the road in 2015.
SCO, led by conductor Robin Ticciati, will bring approximately 50 members of its company to tour Germany, Austria and France in March. Meanwhile 50 members of Scottish Ballet’s dance and production team will visit China and Japan in the first quarter of 2015, where they will perform Romeo and Juliet, followed by a six city tour of the USA in May performing A Streetcar Named Desire.
Ian Scholes, Director of European Operations, Colpitts World Travel, said: “We are proud to be part of the effort to spread Scottish arts and culture throughout the globe, working with SCO and Scottish Ballet on their forthcoming tours. We have expertise in managing the many logistical challenges for arts company travel, including handling what can be complex visa arrangements and dealing with specialist requirements for very valuable and high specification instruments.
Tammo Schuelke, SCO Concerts and Projects Manager said: “Colpitts understands the high standards and individual-focused service that a chamber orchestra requires when it goes on tour and has consistently delivered for us.”
John Aitken, Company Manager of Scottish Ballet said: “We’re delighted to once again have Colpitts’s support for next year’s tours. They understand our many and varied international travel requirements and continually deliver a premium service which enables us to focus all our energy on our on-stage performances.”
