Colpitts World Travel has been at the forefront of a new initiative involving Edinburgh Airport and key players within Scotland’s hospitality and travel sector. The Edinburgh Airport Forum is aimed at enhancing the experience of business travellers when they fly in and out of the Scottish capital.
Included within the group are representatives from many of the major hotel brands operating in Edinburgh, a number of travel management companies, including Colpitts, and the city’s key conference and events venues.
Through discussion at regular meetings and additional external input from the members’ own stakeholders, the Forum is designed to help ensure Edinburgh Airport can best meet the needs of business traveller using the facility. This covers areas including the potential to further develop fast tracking and other business passenger services. The Forum also serves as a communication platform whereby Edinburgh Airport can share its strategic vision and advise members on proposed air route developments.
The group has also created a survey to capture further views and feedback from business travellers and other key stakeholders about the service offering at the Airport.
Ian Scholes, head of European operations at Colpitts World Travel, said: “We are delighted to be a key driver of this initiative which is aimed at further improving the experience of business travellers who fly into and out of Scotland’s capital. While Edinburgh Airport has been continually evolving its services for the business customer they are never complacent and recognise the importance of working closely with the key stakeholders representing this group to ensure they are always at the top of their game.”
Gordon Dewar, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport, said: “The creation of the Edinburgh Airport Forum is a great way for us to directly engage with Scotland’s travel and hospitality sector so we can continue to fulfil the needs of our business passengers and contribute to the Scottish economy.
“Over 30% of our passengers travel on business and we have 48 daily services to London alone. We’re committed to working with our industry partners to ensure we provide our customers with the very best choice and experience.”
